I could never decide between art and science, so healthcare advertising suited me perfectly. Since I started my first copywriting job fresh out of a degree in Biomedical Science, I've been lucky enough to work on a range of accounts ranging from travel vaccines and genital warts, to cancer and COVID-19.
Some people wonder how 'creative' fits in with talking to doctors and nurses, but I like to remind them that healthcare professionals are human too, and respond to emotional prompts and messaging just like the rest of us. You just have to be clever about how you weave in the 'science bit'.
