História | In 1971, India’s first aircraft carrier INS Vikrant played a decisive role in the historic Indo-Pak war which led to the birth of a new nation – Bangladesh. However in 2014, the government decided to send this legendary warship to the scrapyard. Bajaj Auto, India’s leading motorcycle company, stepped in and procured INS Vikrant’s scrap metal, forged it and gave it a new life, in the form of a new motorcycle- the Bajaj V.To take this story to the nation, we used a unique medium. After a nationwide search, we partnered with the brave naval officers who fought aboard the INS Vikrant in the 1971 war and made a documentary series titled ‘The Sons of Vikrant’. Through this content, the untold stories of pride and valour of the warship were revealed to the nation. Thus these war heroes became the messengers for the nation’s bike. |
