História | Rastro de Pó is the first single of the EP Tombamento inevitável, by Tagua Tagua, a solo project by Felipe Puperi from Wannabe Jalva. The music video was shot in Cruz das Almas, Bahia, well known for holding the Fire Sword Wars in June during the St John celebrations. Although, this Fire Sword War is forbidden due to safety hazards, it’s been happening for decades and involves many locals. “We were amazed by the strength of the tradition, the legacy – which is passed from one generation to another. It’s something very powerful in this town” Douglas Bernardt (Director, Stink Films) The song talks about memory, light, shadow and legacy. The power of the lyrics is reflected in this compelling and poetic film. It tells the story of how mothers and children can get caught up in this dangerous tradition. The film is a mix of fiction and real life. “I was always fascinated by cultural manifestations that are typically Brazilian and the challenge of how to portray them through a cinematic perspective. When we came across the Fire Sword War in Cruz das Almas, we felt that the song had such a strong connection to the essence of the tradition. It was a perfect match”. The video was shot in June 2017 and was produced by Stink Films with a local cast. |
