BriefGynecologic cancers affect more than 15,000 women in France every year. Most gynecologic cancers occur in postmenopausal women over the age of 50. But due to insufficient follow-up, many of these cancers in women under 40 go undetected. Whether it is ovarian, endometrial or cervical cancer, the symptoms are not visible. For example, rare ovarian cancer tumors (responsible for more than 3,100 deaths per year) remain the most under-diagnosed. Hard to detect, they all require great vigilance to early warning signs (bloating, urinary or digestive disorders) that only an annual gynecological consultation can effectively diagnose before the disease reaches an advanced stage. But there are women who fear the worst ; those who, after several pregnancies, no longer feel concerned ; those for whom it is a taboo... the obstacles linked to gynecologic consultation are numerous, preventing early diagnosis and treatment. For World Ovarian Cancer Day, IMAGYN decided to release a prevention and information campaign. The campaign was created by Julie Navarro, in collaboration with Gwendoline Hamon, patron of the organization. It features forty well-known French celebrities who came together to share the message with humor and playfulness.
