História A poster campaign takes all available underground postings (4 sheets, 6 sheets, escalator and stairwell panels, 16 sheets, 48 sheets, railway bridge banners, etc) at Carnival located tube stations. These images take the ‘streetmusic’ idea on, featuring street scenes with the everyday signage and street furniture altered to read as track titles relevant to the station’s playlist and audience. Therefore standout music tracks such as ‘Big Tings a Gwan’, and ‘The Chronic’, replace a common road sign, a kebab shop fascia and a London bus’s destination board.
Filosofia Fallon has produced a TV and print campaign setting the station’s music policy firmly in its natural environment – The street. It breaks on TV programming and poster sites in and around the Notting Hill Carnival this Bank Holiday weekend – the nation’s biggest celebration of black music and culture.
Problema 1Xtra is the first UK Radio Station dedicated to playing the very best in new black music genres such as Hip Hop, UK Garage, Dancehall, RnB and Drum and Bass. To announce the launch of this innovative BBC digital station, Fallon has created a campaign that celebrates these often marginalised, musical forms from both sides of the Atlantic.
