Rob has over 25 years of experience in the field of consumer marketing, working with and for Fortune 500 companies on the corporate, client and agency sides. Today he is a partner in The Mars Agency, serving as its Global CEO. Before the CEO role, Rob built and led The Mars Agency Bentonville. Prior to that, Rob was responsible for the development and management of The Mars Agency Field Based Shopper Marketing Network. Throughout his tenure at The Mars Agency, Rob has worked alongside its Founder , Ken Barnett, partnering with him on the development and growth of several other companies within the shopper marketing arena. Rob's experiences also include 14 years with Nestle USA and three years with Diageo in various marketing, category management and sales roles. Known for transforming organizations into lead positions, Rob is skilled at designing winning strategies, identifying growth opportunities and mobilizing teams to achieve results.
Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Siena College, Loudonville, NY and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Rob has served on several industry and nonprofit boards. He currently serves as an executive board member of the University of Arkansas Sam M. Walton College of Business Center for Retailing Excellence, the Brand Activation Association and Collective Bias.

As its first employee, he founded the office in 2010, growing it to be the market leader in the U.K. and Europe with the help of his dedicated and passionate team, and now is leading the charge in Asia. He has spent a lifetime discerning how to use shopper behavior insights to motivate brand growth and increase profit. Prior to becoming a Mars lifer, Darren held senior shopper- and retailer-focused positions at Saatchi, Leo Burnett and The Marketing Store. During his career, he has worked closely alongside a wide variety of global clients that include Coca-Cola, Colgate-Palmolive, Samsung, P&G, Toyota, McDonalds, Vodafone, Unilever and Mondelez, just to name a few. An active industry leader, Darren is a regular chair judge for various awards councils. He lives just north of London in the leafy suburbs with his wife and two children. After years of rugby coaching, he has hung up his boots and chooses skiing and swimming as his core sporting pastimes as well as supporting Arsenal Football Club.
For 20+ years, Jenn has been leading and growing client businesses across integrated marketing, including brand strategy, promotions, conversion marketing, and digital commerce.
Jenn held leadership positions at Advantage, WPP and Epsilon, where she worked on clients such as VW, Ferrara, Newell Brands, Anheuser Busch, Upﬁeld, J&J, Reckitt, Chase Pay and Tracfone, among many others.
Beyond agency experience, Jenn also brings a client-side perspective, having been in brand management at Danone and consumer promotions at Kraft Foods. Both assignments formed a critical foundation for Jenn, fueling a Sales and Marketing perspective that drives the innovative and multi-dimensional solutions she brings to client engagements.
Living by the expression – “The way you do anything is the way you do everything,” Ken and his team’s passionate dedication to performance excellence has led to the profitable success of The Mars Agency’s clients in the retail marketplace. And, subsequently, to the success of The Mars Agency itself, having received industry accolades several times over. As a seasoned agency leader with over three decades of broad experience in marketing and advertising, Ken Barnett oversees an agency-wide culture of professional growth and client-service excellence. Today, this culture permeates through 11 full-service offices around the U.S., Canada and the U.K. Ken’s companies, in aggregate, employ over 800 people. Never satisfied with the status quo, Ken continues to reach beyond The Mars Agency to help build other companies within the shopper marketing arena, including a warehouse and logistics company, several shopper-focused digital start-ups and several analytics companies. Ken’s hobby is creating things. He especially enjoys creating new companies that further the craft he has learned – and continues to learn – along what he calls life’s ever-changing and exciting path. As a developer of shopper marketing as it is today, Ken is currently working with the University of Tennessee to start an academic major in shopper marketing for graduate and undergraduate programs. And when he’s not hard at work placing his shopper marketing influence upon the world, he’s busy being a devoted husband and father and enjoying his newest title of grandfather.
A 30-year veteran of the commerce marketing industry, Merna joined Mars from Quotient Technology, where he spearheaded massive growth across the company’s ecommerce solutions by building close partnerships with leading CPG clients.
In addition to his tenure at Quotient, Merna’s career also includes stints heading up brand strategy at insights & analytics providers Samba TV and Oracle Datalogix, and steering category development at AOL Advertising. He also spent 18 years in various brand management and shopper/ customer marketing roles at blue-chip CPGs Pfizer, Bayer and Dial (now Henkel), which gives him an even deeper understanding of client needs.
