The campaign is sponsored by Adidas, Bayer, Deutsche Bahn, Dresdner Bank, Lufthansa, Mercedes Benz and Deutsche Telekom. The decision on the venue of the World Cup 2006 will be made in July 2000. The support of the German people is crucial for the bid. If there is broad support throughout the country it will be easier to find acceptance for measures which have to be taken in the course of the bid. Furthermore, this will send an important signal to the decision makers of the FIFA committee that Germany really stands behind the bid.
