História Telstra ‘CDMA January 28th Shutdown’
This TVC from Taxi director Liz Murphy has it all - energy, great culmination, creativity, visual strength – it’s an example of what everyone has come to expect from the enormously talented Murphy.
The spot for George Patterson Y&R Brisbane is part of Telstra’s national campaign, ‘CDMA January 28th Shutdown’. It is a quirky tale of the day the numbers got away. It’s a mischievous, observational adventure that follows the disappearance of everyday numbers from across Australia. With the CDMA network closure planned for January 28th, the brief from George Patterson Y&R was to create a sense urgency and drama throughout the spot to motivate the remaining CDMA customers to switch plans now before it’s too late.
Shot over 3 days around South East Qld, it was an action packed whirlwind of fishing line, homemade pea-shooting darts, and a giant polystyrene red six. “We really wanted to do as much as physically possible in camera – it had to feel like it really happened at each location, and we were simply there to capture it like a news story or documentary” adds Murphy.
