Made in Carcere launches the project #Tweet from a prison. A dedicated line of Made in Carcere products that allows prisoners to communicate with the outside world by using Twitter in prison. A statistics reports that 80% of the prisoners who learn a new skill are less likely to commit crimes after their release. Made in Carcere is a company that works in Italy with women prisoned for minor offenses. It’s a sustainability idea based on the second chance philosophy: for the fabrics and for the women in prison. Women realize gadgets using wasted fabrics. In this way, they have a salary, an opportunity to learn a craft and to have a better life once they are out of the prison. To engage and recruit more women to work in prison, Made in Carcere has created “#Tweet From A Prison” project. A prisoner can sew her tweet on the bracelet and submit it to the outside world thanks to the Made in Carcere e-commerce website. A special sewing machine is connected directly to the Made In Carcere Twitter page. Every time a person will send a tweet reply, it will be instantly sewn by the machine and delivered inside the prison. The moment they will come out of prison and resume their regular life they will have the opportunity to do not feel marginalized again and mostly have the opportunity to don’t commit mistakes anymore.
