História Context:

There are approximately 183 million marijuana smokers in the world, yet only 4 countries have legalized it. Therefore, this community suffers from a lack of content, and entertainment concerning weed.


Design solution:

500g is the first magazine that utilizes graphic design and illustration to enhance the smoking weed experience. Its design is made so that the reader submerges in a highly sensorial trip. It all starts with a cover that simulates a bag of weed, and the art inside it hooks you up page by page.


Cultural Context:

500g was born in Los Angeles, with the purpose of normalizing the use of this substance in other states, and countries across the world. All through entertainment. The magazine’s name comes from its weight; 500g. That way people will know they’re holding 500 grams of good stuff. Once they open it, they will find different activities to interact with: A page that can be used for filters, another one to put ashes in, and many more to play with visual effects. All of these with the purpose of making this trip as high it can be.


Packaging:

We created a cover page that simulates a marijuana bag, with the purpose of displaying 500 gr of weed in points of sales in countries where it is still illegal. That will not only ensure target perception, but it will also normalize the purchase of this product.
