Mike & Steve

Mike & Steve

Individual directors in their own right, Mike & Steve usually come as a duo. As Co-Directors they’re interested in making everything from virals to features. And as Creative Directors at Archer’s Mark, they engage with everything that comes through the door.

They made a name for themselves co-directing sports content for the worlds biggest brands such as Nike, Adidas, Footlocker, Samsung and Electrolux.

Their debut feature documentary ‘Next Goal Wins‘ was released theatrically this year to huge critical acclaim.

Lorrin Braddick

Lorrin Braddick

Lorrin Braddick started his career in post-production, moving from premier London post-facility Rushes to Final Cut UK, where he worked as an editor in high-end commercials & music videos. He cut for 6 years in London, New York, Chile, Amsterdam and Los Angeles before going freelance as a Director and Editor in 2006.

Dave Higgs

Dave Higgs

Dave earned his chops making a ton of charity films for the likes of Oxfam and the Amy Winehouse Foundation. Having been lucky enough to win a place at eccentric filmmaker Werner Herzog’s Rogue Film School, he then went on to make his first short film, ‘The Last Ten’, which did the rounds on the international film festival circuit, to much acclaim.

He has directed music promos for Island Records, Universal and PIAS, including the video for upcoming band Zulu Winter, which use his signature visual flourishes with much aplomb. He’s currently in post-production on his next short.

Sean Hill

Sean Hill

Sean cut his teeth shooting EPK material on the sets of some of the biggest blockbusters in recent memory, such as Skyfall, Fast & Furious and Sherlock Holmes. Having worked alongside some of the UKs biggest directors, he made the transition into directing his own shorter-form documentary pieces.

A love of football (Portsmouth, but don’t hold that against him) fed his desire to direct sports-related content, leading to Sean working extensively with Nike, amongst other high profile clients, as well as collaborating with Archer’s Mark’s very own Mike and Steve on their upcoming documentary feature, Next Goal Wins.

Ben Marshall

Ben Marshall

When Ben flew the nest to study in Sheffield, Mr and Mrs Marshall thought their son would return as a fully fledged materials engineer. What they didn’t bank on was him spending his spare time snowboarding, or throwing himself around skate parks, whilst figuring out how best to capture these extreme sports on film. It seems only natural then that Ben was inducted into Archer’s Mark via a hardcore shoot in the alps for snowboarding brand Protest. Since then his camera, editing and directing skills have been stretched and honed across documentaries, technical shorts and Advertising shoots for some of the worlds biggest sports brands such as Nike and Adidas.

Ben has directed action sports films for Redbull, Winter X games, Huck Magazine and Eastway bikes. When Ben flew the nest to study in Sheffield, Mr and Mrs Marshall thought their son would return as a fully fledged materials engineer. NATHAN MORRIS

NATHAN MORRIS

Johny Mourgue

Johny Mourgue

Starting out his career, Johny split most of his time between his drawing board and the dust-filled second-hand record store where he worked part-time (think High Fidelity, only filled with more dust, even more records, and fewer customers).

He combined his love of music with his natural ability for graphic design, and it wasn’t long before Johny found himself fostering a roster of clients from all over the music industry. From here, Johny began expanding his love of aesthetic design by undertaking a degree in motion graphics, eventually signing as a music video director and working with the likes of Joker, Benga, Dennis Ferrer and Katy B. He brings an impeccable attention to detail and design to each project he does, and can work wonders armed only with a camera, a crayon and a single piece of scrap paper.

Ed Owles

Ed Owles

Ed cut his teeth making documentaries for the likes of Channel 4, Al Jazeera and Current TV, as well as working with arts & cultural organisations across the world.

A student of social anthropology, and with a keen observational eye, Ed’s background has been key in shaping his skills as a documentarian with a deep interest in people. This passion has led to him working with tea farmers in Rwanda & India, archaeologists in the Libyan Sahara, and rig workers in the North Sea. He has a weekly kickabout with Archer’s Mark founders Mike and Steve (and claims to be better than both of them).

Jamie Roberts

Jamie Roberts

Having started out directing and editing music videos for an array of bands such as The Maccabees, Kaiser Chiefs, Glasvegas and Gomez. Jamie has branched out into commercial and broadcast work, bringing his distinctive visual style to bear on projects for Channel 4, Microsoft, Nike and VW.

2013 saw him win the Channel 4 pitch at Sheffield Doc Fest 2013, which led him into production on ‘Angry, White & Proud’, an hour long documentary for Channel 4′s First Cut strand, which was broadcast in January 2015.

His 30 minute Channel 4 documentary ‘Ghosts of Pontecarlo’, produced by Archer’s Mark, is due for transmission later this year.

Mike Simpson

Mike Simpson

As one half of directing duo Mike and Robin, Mike Simpson started his career crafting music videos for The Saturdays, Roll Deep, Agent X, and Raghav & Redman, among others, before moving on to shooting advertising content for Nike, Nokia and HTC. He’s currently developing a feature.

Nick Tree

Nick Tree

Having shot various digital content briefs for clients such as P&G and Time Warner, Nick’s directing took him to the glamorous world of fashion films, working with such high profile names as Milla Jovovich, Matthew Williamson & Helena Christensen.

Claudiu Voicu

Claudiu Voicu

Having grown up with the best of British Freerunning talent, Claudiu found himself moving away from his web-design roots to film, edit and photograph the newly discovered extreme sport at a time when its popularity was increasing daily. His first self-produced and directed freerunning production, Storm Freerun – Volume 1, became a viral hit and has since been licensed by the likes of Audi and Red Bull. This led to him directing several action sports-related content for the likes of Nokia & Nike, as well being featured in Channel 4′s urban sports documentary Concrete Circus.

Claudiu recently collaborated with YouTube star The Vujanic for spoof video Eastern Europe Style. Despite some minor death threats, the video has been another massive viral success, racking nearly 3 million YouTube views so far.

David Waldman

William Williamson

William Williamson

William has taken the route through live music and close artistic collaborations with musicians, such as his long working relationship with Keaton Henson, emerging as a new talent in short form documentary and branded content. He has recently directed work for brands as diverse as The Sun, Samsung and Facebook.

Alex Winckler

Alex Winckler

Alex began his directing career on COWARDS, a BBC 3 Sketch show with Tim Key (Perrier Award Winner 2010) and Tom Basden (Perrier Newcomer 2009) before launching himself into the world with his BAFTA-nominated short film RALPH. This early success led him into a two-year stint directing one of Britain’s most popular continuing dramas, along with a recent stint on My Mad Fat Diary for Channel 4, not to mention a plethora of comedy vehicles for E4, BBC and Hat Trick.

He has now brought his considerable directing talents to the world of commercials and content, creating spots for clients like Microsoft and Barclaycard and working with comic talents including Ed Byrne, Russel Kane, Stephen Mangan and James Fleet.
