I was directly responsible for a string of 5 student bars across Southampton, as well as duty managing the main campus bars and the 1,500 capacity nightclub. In this role I built a strong team of ~60 student staff to improve service at the bars which were failing at the time, as well as introducing and running large scale and regular events and a food service across the venues, including all associated staff training, publicity and event management. Having taken over the role during a period of downturn I managed to increase turnover by 90% in the first year. I was also responsible for the management of many of the Union’s regular events and assisted with the delivery of a variety of larger events including the Graduation Ball.
