| História | I run the licensing department at the record label Downtown Records, where he handle all of the sync licensing for the artists on the labels roster as well as 10 other indie record labels and a handful of individual rosters. Toulouse (Tolu) started out as our office receptionist. He overheard me talking about a brief one day and asked if he could send me his music. I started working with him and eventually convinced our publishing company to offer him a deal. Fast forward to a few months ago when I was working on the music for an ad for a car brand over one weekend, and I called Tolu and asked him if he could record a cover that day. He recorded "I will follow you" by Peggy Lee and made popular by Sister Act. The car ad ended up not using the song, but I knew the right opportunity would come along. When I got the brief for the iPhone 7 balloon ad, I immediately sent them this cover. It went final and the label I work for ended up releasing the track. Toulouse has now charted in almost every territory around the world, and has millions of streams across multiple platforms.
