We are the Mexican Film Institute (IMCINE) the decentralized public agency that promotes the development of the national film industry through production support, encouragement creators, industrial development and promotion, distribution, diffusion and dissemination of Mexican cinema .
It was created on March 25, 1983 to:
Consolidate and increase production national film.
Establish a policy of industrial development in the audiovisual sector.
Support the production, distribution and film exhibition inside and outside the borders of Mexico.
Generate a good image of Mexican cinema and its creators in the world.
Promote knowledge of film audiences through various festivals, exhibitions, courses and forums in all regions of the country.
Help the national film industry has an important role in the cultural sphere of the country, to strengthen the values, customs and ways of life in our nation.
Promote and encourage the development of the national film industry, in order to ensure continuity and artistic and cultural life of Mexican cinema passing through stimulus programs creators, supporting the production of feature films and short films and promotion of audiovisual media and promote and disseminate national film industry in Mexico and abroad.
