Furlined Directors

Douglas Avery began his career in photography, assisting Richard Avedon, Steven Klein, Albert Watson and Annie Leibovitz. His short film, “Hitch,” was featured in Cannes’ 2002 Saatchi & Saatchi New Directors Showcase. He’s helmed work for Gatorade out of TBWA/Chiat/Day/LA, ESPN for Weiden+Kennedy/NY, Honda out of RPA, Sears for mcgarrybowen, Levis out of BBH/London and ING for John St. 

Ted Pauly began his career at MTV’s On-Air promos department. His commercial work includes spots for Toyota out of Saatchi & Saatchi/LA, Snickers for BBDO/NY, State Farm out of Translation/NY, Verizon for McCann Erickson/NY, Old Spice out of Wieden + Kennedy, Lifesavers for Energy BBDO, and Domino’s out of Crispin Porter + Bogusky. 

Speck and Gordon launched their directing career with the Academy Award-nominated short film “Culture” starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. They’ve since helmed the feature films “Blades of Glory,” starring Will Ferrell, and “The Switch,” starring Jason Bateman and Jennifer Aniston. The duo continues a prolific career in commercials, directing spots for Axe for BBH/London, Nestea for Wieden+Kennedy/London and Footlocker for BBDO/NY.
