SANCTUARY CONTENT SIGNS DIRECTOR TEAM MINDCASTLE

por Rani Shah

MINDCASTLE–––the award-winning directing team of Danielle Krieger and Casey Warren–––have joined the roster of Sanctuary Content, the Los Angeles-based production company headed by founder and Executive Producer Preston Lee.

MINDCASTLE’s work, which is characterized by powerful emotional storytelling, has won nu-merous awards, including the One Club’s Young Guns award, Cannes’ Young Director’s Award, One Screen Festival’s Emerging Writers award, and an Emmy. Additionally, they won a recent Clio for their work with The New York Rangers.

MINDCASTLE got their cinematic eye from a foundation in photography. While still in college, Casey and Danielle were approached by ESPN to create a spot for the NFL Draft, which led to future collaborations with athletes and celebrities including Derek Jeter, Floyd Mayweather, Russell Wilson, and Richard Sherman. Flash forward a few years and MINDCASTLE are con-sistently creating impactful films for global brands including Patrón, Canon, Facebook, and Fuji-film.

Lee says, “I first noticed Danielle & Casey’s work from their ESPN Mixtape piece and became an immediate fan. They bring a fresh, cinematic signature to all of their projects, regardless of the genre. We’re super excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with them.”

Casey and Danielle thrive in collaborative settings and love to work with clients to build ideas from the ground up. They are known for creating a “world” for their films where they build scenes with layered character and texture, often designing and creating unique props and ele-ments for their films–––such as over one hundred hand-created basketball team branded mixtapes for their film “Mixtape” for ESPN. They worked with ARRI on the development of the Alexa Mini, providing feedback on the design and functionality. This led them to create the suc-cessful and award winning launch film “The Journey.”

Says Mindcastle, “From the first phone call with Preston, we knew Sanctuary was the right fit for us. The conversation was so easy, and we felt like we have known each other for years. Sanctuary has a culture of developing young directors, putting the creative first and being passionate about the right work which excites us. We are looking forward to growing with Sanctuary.”
