Refinery29, the leading media and entertainment company for young women, today announced the appointment of Sharon McGann Wacker as its Executive Sales Lead of Auto, effective immediately. She’ll be responsible for growing the company’s global auto business and its relationships with its clients. She will be based in Detroit, reporting to Chief Development Officer George Rogers.
“Sharon brings tremendous knowledge and experience of the automotive marketplace to Refinery29,” Rogers said. “Her passion for the automotive business and our target audience will help further our position as the leading brand for young women.”
Wacker has previously held positions at J. Walter Thompson, GTB (formerly Team Detroit), and Commonwealth McCann, and has worked with brands across the auto industry, including Ford, Chevrolet, and Michelin. Most recently, she served for three years as Director, Global Client Services at experiential marketing agency Xperience Communications, where she launched and managed its Shanghai office, and led the Dubai office.
