#IGotMyShotSG: Encouraging Singaporeans to get vaccinated against COVID-19

Tribal Worldwide Singapore has collaborated with the Ministry of Communications and Information to launch a campaign, #IGotMyShotSG, featuring Singapore’s icon

Phua Chu Kang. Anchored on the tagline “I Got My Shot, Get Yours Too”, it aims to encourage Singaporeans to go for the COVID-19 vaccination when offered to them. This is complementary to the other efforts by the Ministry to reinforce the importance of vaccination in protecting ourselves and our loved ones. In a music video titled “Get Your Shot, Steady Pom Pi Pi” launched 2 May 2021, Phua Chu Kang brings his partner Rosie on a musical journey, urging Singaporeans not to wait and see and be vaccinated when it is their turn. The music video also addresses public concerns on the safety of the vaccines and the suitability of the vaccines for persons with chronic conditions. Mr Benson Toh, Executive Creative Director at Tribal Worldwide Singapore, said, “COVID-19 vaccination is a complex topic. Through humour, we can make it more relatable and understandable for Singaporeans from all walks of life.”

Phua Chu Kang will also appear in a series of advertisements featuring everyday Singaporeans who have received their vaccination and their motivations for doing so. This includes Mr Zulkifli Bin Khamis, Senior Teacher at Bendemeer Secondary School, Mdm Hoe Kwee Eng, egg seller at Eunos Crescent Market and Mdm Santi Devi, a grandparent. “I am very happy and proud to have taken the vaccine. Now I can keep my family safe, especially my grandchildren,” said Mdm Santi. The campaign also rolled out with a series of informative videos in Mandarin, Malay and Tamil to address concerns on the suitability of the vaccines for persons with chronic conditions. To encourage Singaporeans to show their support towards the vaccination exercise, Facebook users can now add the #IGotMyShotSG frame to their Facebook profile photo to inspire their friends and families on Facebook to get vaccinated. Facebook users can add the frame when they change their profile photo and search for ‘IGotMyShotSG’.
